A video has gone viral which shows UFC bantamweight Cody Gibson in a bar fight, and the fighter has relayed he regrets the incident.

The 27 year-old Gibson, who has gone 1-2 in the UFC to date, was recently captured on video arguing with a man at a Las Vegas bar. The footage shows the man punching Gibson in the face, before the latter shot in for a takedown, and a brief scuffle ensued.

After TMZ.com posted the video, Gibson spoke with Sherdog.com about the incident, and here is some of what he had to say:

“I work with high school kids and I do a lot with the youths,” said Gibson, who is also a wrestling coach for a California high school. “Especially in my community, I’m definitely a role model. This is not the message I want to give to the kids.”

“Looking back on it, it’s definitely not going to be a highlight of my career.”

Gibson claims that the man initiated the confrontation, and that he told him he didn’t want to fight, before he stated who he was. So far, the UFC has not released any statement regarding the incident.
