According to reports, former Tachi Palace Fights flyweight champion and current bantamweight champ Ulysses Gomez will make his UFC debut against John Moraga, at UFC on FOX 4.

The news comes just days after Moraga’s original opponent, Ian McCall, reportedly announced on The Underground forum that he could no longer fight on August 4th due to a knee injury.

The new bout was first reported by MMA Diehards and was also confirmed by MMA Junkie.

Gomez (9-2) joins the UFC having gone 4-1 in his last five fights with his only loss during that stretch coming versus Darrell Montague. Most recently the Cobra Kai fighter tapped out Cody Gibson with a third round, guillotine choke at TPF 11 in December.

Moraga (10-1), who will also be making his UFC debut next month, is riding a four fight win streak. The Arizona Combat Sports and MMA Lab fighter is coming off a unanimous decision win over Maurice Senters while competing for Rage in the Cage in June.

The UFC has not made any announcement regarding the reported bout or McCall’s injury.

UFC on FOX 4 will be hosted by the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will feature a light-heavyweight bout between former champ Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Brandon Vera in the main event.
