Recently it was revealed that Alistair Overeem has officially left the renowned Blackzilians team to join Jackson’s MMA, and evidently one ex-teammate is happy the heavyweight has left.

Undefeated fighter and decorated jiu-jitsu competitor Gilbert Burns is a member of the Blackzilians, and recently he appeared on the Brazilian Sexto Round podcastAccording to a follow up report from MMA Fighting, Burns claims that Overeem left the Florida based team, after a sparring incident with Guto Inocente.

Burns alleges that Overeem took Inocente down during a kickboxing session, which wasn’t going his way, and that the latter injured his knee as a result. Inocente also claimed to MMA Fighting.com that the injury occurred after Overeem took him down “unexpected.”

Burns reportedly went on to say that Overeem is “cocky” and that the “team got better when he left.”

Overeem, who is coming off a decision win over Frank Mir, has yet to comment publicly on the alleged incident.
