Report: Vitor Belfort Wants Another Crack at The Title After Dan Henderson Bout
By FCF Staff
Although Vitor Belfort failed to secure the UFC’s middleweight title this past May, the veteran fighter is hoping a win over Dan Henderson will earn him another shot.
Belfort is scheduled to fight Henderson on November 7th at UFC Fight Night 77. It will mark the third time the middleweights have battled, as Henderson decisioned Belfort in 2006, before the latter scored a KO win in their 2013 rematch.
Recently “The Phenom” appeared on the Brazilian television program, Revista Combate, and relayed the following (quote via MMA Fighting.com):
“Getting past Dan Henderson, I want the winner of this fight, either Weidman or the trash talker Rockhold,” Belfort said. “We’re on the race. You go to your goal, or you ask to leave. It’s important to have a goal, a focus in your life. The fun thing about the next chance you have is that you earn it today. I’m focused on Dan Henderson now, on my training, focused on going there and doing my job.”
Belfort took Rockhold out with a highlight reel, head kick in 2013. At UFC 187 in May, Belfort was stopped by champion Chris Weidman.
Weidman and Rockhold are scheduled to fight on December 12th.
