MMA legend Wanderlei Silva has reportedly lost his father, Holando Pinheiro da Silva, in a car accident that took place Sunday in the Brazilian state of Parana.

The tragedy is being reported by the Brazilian media according to Gracie Magazine, and Silva recently posted the following statement on his official Twitter account.

Thanks for all prays all MSG all support my guys sad day,thanks for your help again

Silva recently posted the video blog above, which featured the 36 year-old-fighter visiting with his father and family.
