Josh Burkman has been one of World Series of Fighting’s top competitors since it came into existence, but the rugged veteran is evidently unhappy with the promotion.

Following Burkman’s first round, knockout win over Tyler Stinson at WSOF 9 last month, the welterweight is calling for his release.

“The People’s Warrior” made his feelings be known via Twitter recently, and here are some of the posts Burkman made:

In a follow up report from MMA Junkie.com, WSOF Vice President Ali Abdelaziz denied the promotion has mistreated Burkman.

“This is not how a man handles business,” Abdelaziz said. “We have treated Josh Burkman like family from day one at World Series of Fighting. He’s made more money than anyone else in the entire promotion. He wants to stay active, so we’ve given him five fights in 16 months. We always gave him more tickets to the events than he was contracted to receive. We gave him extra hotel rooms. Now he’s saying he feels like we’ve mistreated him? I don’t get it.”

Burkman has gone 4-1 to date with WSOF, and the only man to defeat the 33 year-old under the promotion’s banner is now former champ, Steve Carl.
