After seeing his bout with Jeremy Stephens get cancelled the day it was supposed to happen, Yves Edwards has reportedly been tapped for a December fight with John Cholish.

In what is already well documented history, Stephens was arrested Friday in Minneapolis for an outstanding warrant in Iowa, and was unable to fight Edwards as scheduled at UFC on FX 5. Despite the cancellation, Edwards was reportedly given his show money and was promised another, quick turnaround bout by UFC President Dana White.

According to a report from MMA Fighting, the Edwards, Cholish fight will be part of the December 8th, UFC on FOX 5 card, which will be hosted by Seattle’s Key Arena.

Edwards (41-18) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Tony Ferguson in December, after stopping Rafaello Oliveira in October.

Cholish (8-2) hasn’t fought since May, when he lost by unanimous decision to Danny Castillo. Prior to the defeat Cholish had won eight straight fights.

UFC on FOX 5 will be headlined by a lightweight bout between champion Benson Henderson and challenger Nate Diaz.
