RFA 29 to Feature Team USA vs. Team Brazil, Ricky Musgrave vs. Raoni Barcelos

By FCF Staff

Resurrection Fighting Alliance has announced several bouts for its August 21st card Sioux Falls, South Dakota, including a fight for the vacant featherweight title. The event is billed as Team USA vs. Team Brazil, and Robbie Lawler and Lyoto Machida will be the honorary coaches, respectively.

The promotion has confirmed that Ricky Musgrave (14-4) and Raono Barcelos (8-1) will battle for the vacant 145 title. Musgrave is coming off a stoppage win over Alvin Robinson in January, and Barcelos KO’d Jamal Parks in February.

“I’ve asked for it, I’ve waited for it, and now it’s finally here,” Musgrave said in the official announcement. “Everyone at Pariah MMA in Colorado Springs is excited about this and our gym is about to be put on the map. Barcelos is a tough kid, very aggressive, and a worthy opponent. I’m excited to get in there and fight.”

“I am very happy to fight for the RFA world title,” said Barcelos. “RFA is an event that has been showing a lot of talent for the world to see. I’m sure with this fight I will have the opportunity to be recognized for my work. It’s a dream come true and an honor to be a champion of a great event like the RFA.”

In addition, RFA has announced that welterweight Jordon Larson (6-1) will take on Ackson Junior (5-0), and that Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger (5-1) will face  strawweight Kinberly Novaes (8-2).

The main card for RFA 29 will be broadcast on AXS TV.
