Resurrection Fighting Alliance has announced that its inaugral event in Los Angeles will feature Pedro Munhoz fighting Keoni Koch for the promotion’s vacant bantamweight title. The card will take place Friday, August 16th, at the StubHub Center in L.A. and will be televised nationally on AXS TV.

“Keoni is the kind of guy I like to fight, because he has a tough mentality and comes from a great MMA team,” Munhoz (8-) was quoted saying in a press release from the promotion. “He wants this fight, I want this fight, and we both want to keep our records perfect, so I’m excited for RFA 9. Our title fight at RFA 9 on August 16th is going to be intense.”

“I’m honored to be fighting for the RFA title and against someone who is accomplished, yet humble, like Pedro Munhoz,” said Koch (5-0). “This fight is going to come down to strategy and who wants it most, because we are both highly confident and have been training a long time. I’m looking forward to going to L.A. and showing the MMA world what RFA fighters are all about!”

The promotion has also announced that the co-main-event will feature Kevin Casey (5-3) taking on Casey Ryan (5-0). Other bouts that have been confirmed for the card include decorated wrestler Steve Mocco (2-0) vs.  K-1 kickboxing veteran James “The Beast” Wilson (2-0), TUF 15 vet Jordan  Rinaldi (6-1) vs. Brian Ortega (6-0), UFC vet Chris Spång (5-2) vs. Alan Jouban (6-1) and Matt Manzanares (6-1) vs. Steve Swanson (10-1) (the older brother of UFC contender Cub Swanson).
