Rich Franklin Enjoyed His Time In Brazil
By Michael Hatamoto
Rich Franklin and Wanderlei Silva battled it out for 25 minutes over five rounds at UFC 147 last night, with the American fighter picking up a unanimous decision.
The former UFC middleweight champion plans on watching the tape with his coaches to see what he can improve upon. After the fight ended, Franklin admitted he couldn’t remember anything that happened in the third or fourth rounds – all because of Silva’s intent to end the fight at the end of round two.
Franklin was preparing for Cung Le at UFC 148, but was called upon to fight Silva at UFC 147 two weeks sooner. It’s interesting because Franklin had a long layoff and was training for Le in Singapore, but immediately headed home to finish up camp for Silva.
The former champion said the Brazilian fans were very receiving of him, and he’d be willing to fight in Brazil again.
