Rich Franklin Says He’s Talking to ONE FC About Executive Position

Rich "Ace" Franklin

By FCF Staff

Although Rich Franklin has repeatedly said he hopes to compete in the Octagon one more time, it looks as though the former UFC champ could be employed by ONE FC soon.

Franklin, who hasn’t fought since November, 2012 when he was knocked out by Cung Le, is reporting that he’s talking to ONE FC about an executive position with the promotion.

The 39 year-old fighter posted the news on his Facebook account:

I have been in talks with ONE FC about taking a job with them. They offered me a position as VP. I will be heading to ONE FC headquarters in the next few weeks to work out the details. I met with Dana and Lorenzo at the end of last year and they gave me their blessing. I will keep you posted.

In the past, Franklin has stated that he intends to complete his UFC contract, which reportedly has one fight left. UFC President Dana White, however, has gone on record saying he’d rather see the accomplished fighter retire.

One would think that if Franklin takes the vice president position with ONE FC, his near 15 year, fighting career will be over.

Franklin (29-7), who made his UFC debut in 2003, has gone 2-3 in his last 5 contests.
