Rick Story vs. Martin Kampmann Confirmed for UFC 139

By FCF Staff

The UFC 139 line-up has received a notable addition, as today the promotion announced that Martin Kampmann (pictured) will fight fellow welterweight Rick Story at the event.

The upcoming card will take place November 19th in San Jose, California and will likely be hosted by the HP Pavilion.

Story (13-4) will be looking to rebound from the unanimous decision loss he incurred versus Charlie Brenneman on June 26th, which ended the 26 year-old-fighter’s impressive six fight win streak. Story’s run included wins over Johny Hendricks, Dustin Hazelett and former contender Thiago Alves.

Kampmann (17-5) hasn’t competed since March, when he lost by unanimous decision to Diego Sanchez. The loss came after another tightly contest bout, as in October, Kampmann dropped a split decision to Jake Shields. The 29 year-old Danish fighter fought two other times in 2010 and earned victories over Jacob Volkmann and Paulo Thiago.

UFC 139 is expected to feature a heavyweight bout between champion Cain Velasquez and challenger Junior dos Santos in the main event.

Some of the other bouts that have been confirmed for the event include Brian Bowles vs. Urijah Faber, Tom Lawlor vs. Chris Weidman and Rafael dos Anjos vs. Gleison Tibau.
