From the event’s promoter: RINGS USA Teams Up With Iowa Casino 8 UFC fighters to compete; event will be televised in Japan COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — The lineup for RINGS USA "Battle of Champions" is impressive: 8 UFC veterans, 8 standouts from WEF, Super Brawl and Extreme Challenge, and two up-and-coming Japanese fighters. And the best part is… they are fighting against each other! The fourth edition of RINGS USA will be held March 17 at Harveys Casino and Hotel in Council Bluffs, Iowa. As always, the event will be televised on WOWOW-TV in Japan. Tickets for the show will go on sale in February. Besides UFC vets Jeremy Horn, Bobby Hoffman, Travis Fulton, Jermaine Andre and LaVerne Clark, the event features some of the nation’s top young prospects… Joe Doerksen, Rich Franklin, Chatt Lavender and Kerry Schall. Akira Maeda, the head of RINGS Fighting Network, will be in attendance to scout talent. RINGS hosts the famous "King of Kings" events in Japan, which pay $250,000 to the winner… and also sponsor events in Australia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Holland and Russia. The Japanese fighters in this event are Wataru Sakata, a RINGS veteran and WEF winner, and Naoyuki Kotani, an unbeaten prospect with solid stand-up skills.
