Rings Usa To Debut In Utah, Hawaii

From the event’s promoter:

RINGS USA to debut in Utah, Hawaii

On the heels of the successful King of Kings event in Japan, RINGS will make its debut in the U.S. this summer.
The first RINGS USA event will consist of two 16-fighter tournaments, held over three events. The first, set for July 15, will be in Orem, Utah; the second, set for July 22, will be in Honolulu, Hawaii; and the Finals, set for Sept. 30, will be in Moline, Illinois. The events will be run by Extreme Challenge promoter Monte Cox.
The two tournaments are for fighters 200-and-under and heavyweights. The two brackets will be divided between the first two events, meaning there will be two 8-man tournaments in Utah and the same in Hawaii. Two rounds will take place at each site, meaning there will be four finalists (2 in each division) at each site. The Final Eight will then compete in the Finals, where each winner will be paid $10,000 and earn a berth into this year’s King of Kings tourney in Japan.
"We are getting close, but we haven’t filled all the brackets yet… we’re still going through possible fighters," Cox said. "If there are more fighters interested, they should email me a bio at Fiteiowa@aol.com."
RINGS USA events will follow Rings KOK rules… punches, kicks, knees and elbows are allowed standing… only punches to the body on the ground. Fighters will have a limited time to improve position on the ground before being stood up.

Here is a preliminary list of fighters for the first event, which will be held July 15 at the McKay Center in Orem, Utah.
