It looks like Fedor Emelianenko will take on Jaideep Singh at Rizing Fighting Federation’s New Year’s Eve show after all, as the promotion has finally confirmed that the bout will take place on December 31st.

In October, reports surfaced that Rizin FF planned to have Emelianenko take on the kickboxer at the event, before a follow up report relayed the organization was abandoning the idea. Well, with less than two weeks to go before the event, the match-up has been posted to the Rizin FF site.

Emelianenko (34-4) will be fighting for the first time since 2012 when he stopped Pedro Rizzo. The 39 year-old, former PRIDE heavyweight champ has won three straight.

While Singh has put together a 40-10-1 record in kickboxing, the 28 year-old is just 2-0 in MMA competition.

The NYE event take place in Saitama, Japan, and will feature the finals of Rizin’s heavyweight tourney, which gets underway on December 29th.
