Rizzo Out, Perretti Looking For
New Opponent For Couture

Randy Couture
It’s official, due to a knee injury, Pedro Rizzo is out of the upcoming UFC set for November 17, at the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. Rizzo last fought a month ago in UFC XXVII and looked impressive as he beat "The Beast" Dan Severn. His opponent was to be Randy Couture, also known as "The Natural" [nickname courtesy of FCF], in the upcoming bout. Couture [pictured at right] will be stepping back into the Octagon after a long absence from the UFC. You may recall Couture’s last two UFC appearances, he beat Maurice Smith in Japan and Vitor Belfort in UFC XV, in an impressive manner.

Pedro Rizzo
No opponent has been named to replace Pedro Rizzo [pictured at left], but matchmaker John Perretti is searching for the proper replacement. Perretti is also searching for a middleweight opponent for Chuck Liddell.

Here is what Pedro Rizzo had to say when asked about his injury…
"Yes, I have an injury to my knee, but it is not that serious. I’m doing physiotherapy at this time. The injury is hindering my training and it will prevent me from fighting in November. If they make this fight in December, it will be fine. I hope to fight in December or as soon as possible, and show again, the new Pedro Rizzo."
