Roy Nelson’s time on the free agency market has reportedly come to an end already, as the heavyweight fighter will take on Daniel Cormier at UFC 166 on October 19th.

The match-up was rumored to be in the works for several days now, and the promotion’s Twitter account has posted a report from the Houston Chronicle, which says the bout is a go. UFC 166 will be hosted by Houston’s Toyota Center.

Nelson (19-8) is coming off a one sided, unanimous decision loss to Stipe Miocic on June 15th, which was the last bout on his contract at that juncture. Prior to the loss, Nelson had won three straight, and reportedly turned down a contract extension before competing at UFC 161.

Cormier (12-0), meanwhile, has been campaigning for a bout with Nelson for sometime now, after working his way to a UD win over Frank Mir in April.

UFC 166 will be headlined by a rubber match between heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez and former champ Junior dos Santos.
