The UFC’s upcoming July 21st event in Calgary, Alberta has another Canadian participant confirmed, as today the promotion has announced that the Edmonton based Ryan Jimmo will take on Australia’s Anthony Perosh.

Word of the light-heavyweight bout was first reported by Sportsnet commentator Joe Ferraro and was then re-tweeted by the UFC Canada account.

Jimmo (16-1) will make his official Octagon debut having won 16 straights fights, which includes wins over UFC vets like Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, Wilson Gouveia and Marvin Eastman.

The 30 year-old-fighter, who was eliminated in the round of 16 for the eighth season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” was expected to make his UFC debut in January but was forced to withdraw due to injury.

Perosh (13-6) will head to Calgary having won three consecutive fights, which includes victories over Tom Blackledge, Cyrille Diabate and most recently, Jimmo’s Team Hayabusa teammate, Nick Penner.

UFC 149 will be hosted by Calgary’s Scotiabank Theatre and is expected to feature a featherweight bout between champion Jose Aldo and Erik Koch in the main event.
