Say It Ain’t So!ironic Twist Of Fate Leaves Champout Of Ufc 36 Title Fight
Say it Ain’t So! Ironic Twist of Fate Leaves Champ Out of UFC 36 Title Fight FULL CONTACT FIGHTER EXCLUSIVE Fans have waited what seems like an eternity for the Tito Ortiz vs. Vitor Belfort light-heavyweight title fight, unfortunately, we will have to wait even longer for much-anticipated battle. The match was originally scheduled for last September, but had to be postponed due to a serious injury Vitor suffered during training. Vitor had surgery to repair his triceps (torn when he accidentally smashed his elbow through a glass window at the gym). Vitor’s arm began to heal and the bout was rescheduled to take place at UFC 36 in Las Vegas on March 22nd. Internet gossips immediately started to speculate what Vitor would injure next. Well, in an ironic twist of fate, Tito has suffered a debilitating knee injury during training and will not be able to fight Vitor on March 22nd. Although Tito wants to take the fight anyway, the severity of the injury will not allow it. There is no indication how long Tito will be side-lined, but he is definitely out of UFC 36. Although Zuffa was not immediately available for comment, it seems that the logical choice for a replacement would be FCF #4 ranked Light-heavyweight contender Chuck Liddell [pictured at right]. Stay tuned to FCF for more info as it develops. |
