Scott Jorgensen Updates His Condition After UFC FN 78 Injury

Scott Jorgensen

By FCF Staff

Scott Jorgensen was clearly in severe pain when his UFC Fight Night 78 bout ended on Saturday, but so far, it looks like the bantamweight didn’t incur a serious injury.

Jorgensen injured his leg not long into his bout with Alejandro Perez, after the latter kicked him to his calf. Jorgensen fought on, but it was cleared he couldn’t put much weight on the leg. Then in round two, after attempting a kick, he went down in pain and tapped out.

Following the card, Jorgensen announced the following on Twitter:

I told the ref and my corners not to stop it between rds. I have full faith in my corners or they wouldn’t be here with me.

No break in my foot or leg need a mri to find out more. Left hand has a small fissure in my metacarpals tho

According to a report from MMA Junkie.com, Jaime Pollack, the UFC’s senior VP of International Development and General Manager of Latin America, confirmed that Jorgensen has a sprained ankle and a broken hand.

UFC FN 78 took place in Monterrey, Mexico.
