Shooto Returns To Indiana!

From the event’s promoter:

SHOOTO RETURNS TO INDIANA!

March 27, 2004 marks the return to HnS’s home turf of Evansville, IN since September 2003 and the show is completely stacked.

Ticket sales were slow at first but after an action-packed TV show this past Sunday, the pace picked up bigtime! If you haven’t purchased or reserved them yet, email HOOKnSHOOT@aol.com.

The show is headlined by two heavy-hitters: NURI SHAKIR and AARON RILEY. On paper is has the makings to be one of those matches that has made the Evansville Coliseum famous to hard-core MMA fans.

HOOKnSHOOT prepares for a 11/6/04 all-womens event by bringing in some new faces. Francesca Menda (Columbus, OH) vs. Del Greer (Connecticut) as well as Julie Kedsie (Bloomington, IN) vs. Terry Blair (Louisville, KY). All four women have extensive background in stand-up fighting that is sure to delight the crowd.

In a more bizarre twist, HOOKnSHOOT will have a four-team, single-elimination tournament. Each team, consisting of three members, must make the 600lbs weight limit. They’ll do battle for BEAUTIFUL HnS Tag Team Titles! Keep your ears open for the HOOKnSHOOT World Tag Team Grand Prix later this year.

Those venturing to Evansville can stay at the Ramada Inn (located @ 2508 Hwy 41/off of Diamond Ave) 812-425-1092…mention HOOKnSHOOT and get the special rate.

The venue is the historic SOLDIERS AND SAILORS MEMORIAL COLISEUM (located at 300 Court St).

RITC 60 – Results
Riggs KO’s Renken in 28 seconds!

In the Main Event, Joe "Diesel" Riggs solidified his quest for a UFC 48 berth with a devastating KO win over experienced Pride veteran John "The Saint" Renken. John Renken missed with his first kick to the head and then landed a kick to the thigh. Riggs blocked the next Renken kick and countered with a one-punch KO. Riggs brings powerful striking to the middleweight division and anyone that tries to "bang" with him may be in for a quick evening.

In the Co-Main event, Aaron Brink displayed pinpoint accuracy with punches and kicks forcing "Tugboat" to tap at 1:05 of the first round.
