Simpson vs. Markes, Brookins vs. Yahya Confirmed for UFC on FUEL TV 1

The Ultimate Fighting Championship continues to round out the line-up for the promotion’s upcomcing FUEL TV debut, as it has announced that middleweight Aaron Simpson will take on Ronny Markes and Jonathan Brookins will fight featherweight Rani Yahya at the February 15th card.

Simpson (11-2) has won three straight fights over Mario Miranda, Brad Tavares and most recently Eric Schafer, after dropping back-to-back bouts to Chris Leben and Mark Munoz.

Markes (12-1) is coming off a succesful UFC debut in August, when he scored a unanimous decision win over Karlos Vemola to extend his win streak to five.

Brookins (12-4) last competed in September and lost by UD to Erik Koch, after defeating Michael Johnson by decision last December to take season 12 of “The Ultimate Fighter.”

Yahya (16-7) will be looking to return to the win column after losing by unanimous decision to number one contender Chad Mendes in August, after earning a UD win over Mike Brown in January.

The February 15th card, which will be broadcast on the FOX owned FUEL TV channel, will be hosted by Omaha, Nebraska’s Century Link Arena.

The event will be headlined by a welterweight bout between Jake Ellenberger and Diego Sanchez.
