Although Stevie Ray is just 27 year’s old, and is one of Europe’s top lightweights, the Scottish fighter is uncertain about his future in fighting, if a new UFC deal isn’t tabled.

Ray completed his UFC contract in July, when he was stopped by Paul Felder. Prior to that, however, Ray scored consecutive wins over Joe Lauzon and Ross Pearson.

Recently Ray appeared on “The MMA Hour”, and he reported that although he’s been in touch with UFC matchmaker, Sean Shelby, no new contract offer has been made. Ray reported that he’s received offers from BAMMA and ACB, but when asked whether he’ll continue to fight if a UFC deal doesn’t materialize, the lightweight said (quote via MMA Fighting):

“I’m not 100 percent sure to be honest,” said Ray.

“The goal was to get to the UFC. It took me like seven years – a lot of time and a lot of fights – to get there.

“And if didn’t get signed after getting beaten by Paul Felder, who’s obviously on a tear now, I don’t know…that’s obviously just how we’re getting looked after now I suppose.”

Ray currently holds a 21-7 record overall, and he’s gone 5-2 in the UFC to date.
