Stipe Miocic Added to UFC 146, Fighting Shane Del Rosario

As a result of the recent match-up shifts that have hit the upcoming UFC 146 card, UFC President Dana White has announced via Twitter that Stipe Miocic has agreed to fight Shane Del Rosario at the May 26th event.

Del Rosario had been scheduled to fight Gabriel Gonzagal however, the heavyweight has been moved into a bout with Roy Nelson that same night.

Since arriving in the UFC Miocic (8-0) has won back-to-back bouts over Joey Beltran and most recently Philip De Fries, who he knocked out at a UFC on FUEL event in February.

Del Rosario (11-0), who will be making his Octagon debut at UFC 146, is coming off three consecutive wins under the Strikeforce banner.

The heavyweight hasn’t competed since February, 2011, when he tapped out current UFC competitor Lavar Johnson with a first round, armbar.

UFC 146 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will feature a heavyweight bout between champion Junior dos Santos and Frank Mir in the main event.
