After winning seven straight fights since he exited from the UFC in the summer of 2010, Strikeforce veteran Jason High has announced that he’s signed a new contract with the promotion and will be returning to the Octagon soon.

High, who’s only UFC appearance to date was a unanimous decision loss to Charlie Brenneman at UFC Fight Night 21, announced via his Twitter account:

Just signed & returned my @UFC contract. No date yet but hopefully will know soon. Bout to go down.

The 31 year-old welterweight also informed Full Contact Fighter that he’s hoping to make his UFC return in late February or March.

Since High (16-3) faced Brenneman the noted wrestler has gone on to score wins over established names like Hayato Sakurai, Quinn Mulhern and Jordan Mein. Most recently the American Top Team and HD MMA fighter tapped out Nate Moore with a first round, guillotine choke at a Strikeforce event last July.

High is the latest Strikeforce vet to join the UFC, as in the last couple of weeks the promotion has confirmed bouts for Bobby Voelker, Robbie Lawler, Caros Fodor and Bobby Green among others.
