After securing the Strikeforce Welterweight Championship in January, to become the promotion’s last 170 pound champ, Tarec Saffiedine will make his Octagon debut against Robbie Lawler at UFC on FOX 8. The promotion has also confirmed that lightweight Bobby Green will take on Danny Castillo, and that heavyweight Dave Herman will fight Shane Del Rosario at the July 27th event.

Saffiedine (14-3) outstruck Nate Marquardt throughout five rounds in January to lay claim to the Strikeforce title, which also marked the Belgium fighter’s fourth straight win,

Lawler (20-9) returned to the UFC in February and stopped Josh Koscheck in the first round, after dropping a unanimous decision to Lorenz Larkin under the Strikeforce banner last July.

Herman (21-5) is returning from suspension, and a mandated rehabilitation program, after testing positive for marijuana last fall. The heavyweight is coming off three consecutive losses to Stefan Struve, Roy Nelson and most recently “Minotauro” Nogueira.

Del Rosario (11-2) has gone 0-2 in his first Octagon appearances, as the Strikeforce vet has been stopped by Stipe Miocic and Pat Barry.

Green (20-5) scored a memorable submission win over Jacob Volkmann in his UFC debut in February, which marked the former Strikeforce competitor’s fifth straight win.

Castillo (15-5), meanwhile, is coming off a unanimous decision win over Paul Sass in February, after being knocked out by Michael Johnson last October.

UFC on FOX 8 will be hosted by Seattle’s Key Arena and will be broadcast on FOX.
