India’s Super Fight League promotion has added several more established fighter’s to its ranks, as the organization announced this weekend that it has signed Jeff Monson, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, Satoshi Ishii and Michael Page to contracts.

According to a press release from the organization, the fighters have been signed four fight, exclusive contracts, however, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

SFL CEO Ken Pavia was quoted saying about Monson, a UFC, Strikeforce and M-1 Global vet: “Jeff has achieved a high level of success fighting all over the world.  We are very excited to add him to our roster and test him in our elite HW division.  He is always entertaining and is one of the true personalities of the sport.”

Ishii, who is a former Olympic Gold Medalist for Judo, stated: “I’m excited to be a part of SFL. I expect great performances from myself and I am ready to fight.’

“With an Olympic gold medal in Japan comes the burden of not being able to walk the streets of Tokyo without being mobbed,” Pavia noted. “His popularity coupled with his work ethic, drive, and his track record for success are the reasons SFL so aggressively pursued Ishii. We are honored to add him to the roster as another exclusive fighter.”

Sokoudjou, a UFC and Pride vet, said the following about the deal: ‘I am excited to have found a home in a major organization. SFL has put together some talented fighters. I see explosive fights in my future!’

‘There has never been such a thing as a boring Sokoudjou fight,” Pavia added. “We are in the entertainment business and he personifies entertainment. As many have found out, he has one and done power so don’t blink. I can’t wait to see him in his October debut with the SFL.”

Page is a British based welterweight kickboxing who has gone 2-0 to date in MMA. Paul Ivens, London Shoot Fighters Head Coach said about Page and his SFL deal:

“I’m really pleased to have SFL sign rising MMA star and world champion kickboxer Michael Page, who’s looking forward to fighting his heart out for the Indian fans and everyone watching around the world.”

Some of the other noted veterans who currently fight for the SFL include Todd Duffee, James Thompson, Paul Kelly, Trevor Prangley and Xavier Foupa-Pokam.

The SFL’s next event will take place September 4th in Bengaluru, India.
