On this episode of Full Contact Fighter Radio, host Jeff “Wombat” Meszaros and co-host James Kellaris review the matches of “UFC 129: St. Pierre vs. Shields.” First, what is going on with Georges St. Pierre? Can anyone challenge him? Can anyone take his belt away? Or stop him from doing the same thing to them again and again for five rounds? Tune in and hear what we have to say. Also, if GSP was so much better at striking, why was it that he was the one who left the Octagon with a smashed face while Shields left looking his Sunday best? Why wasn’t GSP able to knock Shields out? We have a variety of interesting thoughts. Also, what about Mark Hominick vs. Jose Aldo? Who was it that gave all five rounds to Aldo? Did they even see the last round? Come on. Plus, Machida vs. Couture? We honestly don’t think there’s much to say besides that Couture should never fight again and Steven Seagal is very likely paying fighters to say he taught them stuff. What other explanation could there be? Those are just a few of the nuggets we touch on as we cruise down a river of conversational gold. Then we call up MMA coach Greg Nelson to chat about training Brock Lesnar and his Ultimate Fighter team in Las Vegas. Tune in and hear some answers to the questions burning a hole in your brain. It’s more than you deserve, but we’re too jaded to care.

On this episode of Full Contact Fighter Radio, host Jeff “Wombat” Meszaros and co-host James Kellaris run down the card for “UFC 129: St. Pierre vs. Shields” where UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre takes on former Strikeforce champion Jake Shields. Who will win? Listen and hear what we think! Who is the better grappler? Who’s the better striker? Is Shields really an underdog? Or will the world be incredibly shocked this weekend? Plus, what about the fight between UFC’s 145-pound champion Jose Aldo and Canadian super-striker Mark Hominick? Will Aldo stand and trade strikes with the “The Machine”? Or will we finally see his skills on the ground? What about Randy Couture vs. Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida? Will Couture use his patented “Wall ‘n’ Brawl” techniques to crush the Brazilian karate-fighter? Or will Machida leap in from ten feet away and knock Couture’s head clean off? Who knows? Also, is Couture really retiring after this match? We’re not so sure. Tune in and hear why, then hang around as Bellator champion Eddie Alvarez stops by for a rousing talk about his last fight, his next fight and his thoughts on the rest of the lightweight division. Catch his thoughts on the fights coming up this weekend and his opinion on him vs. Gilbert Melendez, Frankie Edgar vs. Melendez and more or less every other lightweight match up we can throw at him. If that’s not a show, we don’t know what it is. Honestly, we don’t!

of The Ultimate Fighter, where Brock Lesnar is in the running for worst coach in the history of the show. Who is the only man keeping Lesnar out of first place for last place? Listen and find out. Hint: it involves hard sparring and birthday cake. Who would play the role of Lesnar if The Ultimate Fighter was a movie? What about Junior Dos Santos? Hint: someone is played by Zak Galifinakas. As you can guess, we go off on a few tangents this week, but it is all highly relevant, we promise. Has Lesnar done enough to warrant nearly an hour of chatter about his poor coaching skills and bizarre usage of seemingly out-of-date and mildly insulting catch-phrases? Did he learn how to speak by watching Al Pacino movies and hanging out with old farmers? It’s an interesting possibility. Speaking of possibilities, what is going to happen when Georges St. Pierre clashes with Jake Shields next weekend? Or what about Anderson Silva vs. Yushin Okami at the UFC in Rio De Janerio, Brazil? Which country is more likely to riot if their hometown hero loses? The answer might shock you. Hold on, home slice. We’re just getting warmed up as we welcome Ivan Menjivar to the show to chat about his upcoming fight in the UFC. Hear all about “The Pride of El Salvador” and his upcoming match, plus get his opinions on the rest of the card. For someone so nice, he sure is opinionated! But that’s good, because so are we, dammit. All this, plus a passing reference to cats watching the Northern Lights. If that’s not enough, you’re just unpleasable.

On this episode of Full Contact Fighter Radio, host Jeff Meszaros and co-host James Kellaris attempt to do their first-ever simulcast. How do they do that? They review the card for “Strikeforce Daley vs. Diaz” while watching the latest episode of The Ultimate Fighter. Is that really a “simulcast”? We’re not sure, but that is what they’re calling it, and we’re not going to argue with them. So, join them for a back-and-forth festival of MMA chatter as they wildly skip from reviewing the Strikeforce card to commentating on the fight happening before their eyes. It isn’t easy, but it is a sacrifice they are willing to make. Questions asked and may be answered include: What exactly knocked Daley down? Why did the referee stop the fight when Daley dropped, but let Diaz crawl around the ring like a drunk dog? Is Brock Lesnar a jerk? What’s the difference between training hard and training like an idiot? What about Melendez? Is that even a question? Tune in and find out, then hang on as Vladimir “The Janitor” Matyushenko stops in to chat about his upcoming fight against Jason Brilz. Hear what he has to say about his last fight and the bout he had with Jon Jones. Plus, get his thoughts on St. Pierre vs. Shields and Couture vs. Machida. What happens when you combine quality and awesomeness? Quasomeness. Listen and drink it in with your ears.

On this episode of Full Contact Fighter Radio, host Jeff “Wombat” Meszaros and co-host James Kellaris run down “The Ultimate Fighter” and share their thoughts on the latest developments. Is Brock Lesnar a good MMA coach? Could the fighters in the house probably beat him up if they were his size? That last question likely tells you what we think. What’s the deal with his coaching? What about his curiously out-of-date catch phrases and bizarre terminology? What about the fight? We chat about that until we’re tired of it, which doesn’t take very long. Then it’s time to talk all about Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley. Who’s going to win the main event between Nick Diaz and Paul Daley? We’re not sure but we agree the loser will be really mad. What about the co-main event between Gilbert Melendez and Tatsuya Kawajiri? Will Melendez sprawl and brawl his way to a decision? Beerbohm vs. Aoki? Jardine vs. Mousasi? Who’s going to walk home the winner there? Will the Jardine fight give us some clue how the fighters in Strikeforce stack up against the UFC roster? Maybe, or maybe not. It’s all that, plus a ton of off-topic rambling, including a rousing bit where we compare Fedor Emelianenko to a fighting chicken. Then it’s time to bring in the fighter as Lyle Beerbohm stops in to chat about his fight againt Shinya Aoki this weekend. Tune in and hear what he thinks of the match, Aoki and the recent purchase of Strikeforce by the UFC. Plus, you will hear all about his fancy pants! Get on board people!

On this episode of Full Contact Fighter Radio, it’s time to ask the hard-hitting questions that other podcasts refuse to ask. First, would babies rule the world if they were the size of grizzly bears? Does the answer to that question reflect on the value of weight-cutting in MMA? And does that explain why Anthony “Rumble” Johnson was so easily able to handle Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy at UFC Fight Night 24 last weekend? What about Phil Davis vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira? Has wresting so totally taken over MMA that jiu-jitsu is basically irrelevant? What about Chang Sung Jung and his twister submission over Leonard Garcia? Was that justice or what? Was that proof of the value of 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu? Absolutely not! Tune in and hear all about these things, as formed into off-topic rants and bizarre tirades that endlessly circle about before turning on themselves and going nowhere. Doesn’t that sound like an entertaining way to spend your night? Half of the fun is finding out! Wait a second, let’s not forget that a brand new season of “The Ultimate Fighter” is underway, with another house filled with testosterone and alcohol. What will happen? Your guess is as good as ours. Hear what went down in the first show, and what lays in store for the upcoming episodes. Then, hang on as Mark Pavelich joins the show to talk about his upcoming card for “MFC 29: Conquer” where Hermes Franca, Terry Martin and Marcus Davis take on local Canadian talent, and round out a card that’s sure to go down like a throwdown. Plus, you do not want to miss what the MFC is calling their new cage! Honestly, you’ll never guess. Shut the doors and unplug the phone. You won’t want to be disturbed once you are on this thrill-ride!

On this episode of Full Contact Fighter Radio, host Jeff Meszaros and co-host James Kellaris debate the insanity that was “UFC: Shogun vs. Jones”. First, it’s time to gloat over how wrong James was that Shogun would win. What was he thinking? Tune in and hear his logic and how wrong it turned out to be. Then, hang on as we ask the big questions like “Can anyone beat Jon Jones?” and “Who can beat Jon Jones?” which might really be the same question, but still just as valid. We toss a few names around and chat about the upcoming Rashad Evans vs. Jon Jones bout. Can two guys who were sparring partners on the same team really participate in a fight where nobody knows who is the favorite? Listen and hear the short answer. We also discuss the rest of the card including the Nate Marquardt vs. Dan Miller fight, the Urijah Faber vs. Eddie Wineland fight and what we both hope is the last time we see Mirko “Cro Cop” Filopovic in the Octagon. Again, c’mon. Don’t think we’re smart enough to be credible? You might be right, so we bring in Mike “Quicksand” Pyle to chat about his recent match vs. Ricardo Almeida and share his thoughts on the hot topics, including Jones vs. Evans, Couture vs. Machida, GSP vs. Silva, Silva vs. Jones and more. Also, he chats about his movie career and how nice it is getting paid to pretend to fight. It’s another show jam-packed with mediocrity and frosted with misinformation.

On this episode of Full Contact Fighter Radio, host Jeff “Wombat” Meszaros and co-host James Kellaris discuss the results of UFC Live 3: Sanchez vs. Kampmann, where Diego Sanchez won a controversial unanimous decision over Martin “The Hitman” Kampmann. Was it a bad decision? Did Sanchez do anything to warrant the outcome? What critieria did the judges use to make that call? Were they wrong? Tune in and find out how things went down according to us! Then hang on as we discuss the C.B. Dolloway vs. Mark Munoz fight. Was that one stopped too early? Could Dollaway have recovered from that onslaught? Or was he clearly KO’d? Catch the ferocious debate about this fight and the rest, then hang on, because then we’re throwing down on the Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Feijao show, where Henderson added one more belt to his impressive collection of waist-jewelry. What’s going to happen now? Who will Henderson face next? What about the women’s championship that went on? Would Marloes Coennen be able to do that again? Or would Liz Carmouche win a unanimous decision in a re-match, grinding down the champ like the “Girl-illa” she is? It’s a good question! Also, what can you say about Melvin Manhoef? The man clearly isn’t able to learn jiu-jitsu. What else is there to say? Like that isn’t enough, we bring in Jim Miller to discuss his upcoming fight in the UFC against WEC cross-over Kamal Shalarous. What does Miller think of the Shogun vs. Jones bout? What about the rest of the card? Secrets are revealed! Tune in and hear the truth in all it’s wonder and glory.

On this episode of Full Contact Fighter Radio, it’s a three-ring circus of mixed martial arts chatter! First, we review “UFC: Fitch Vs. Penn”, which went down last weekend in Australia. Was that one really a draw? What about Bisping vs. Rivera? Was Bisping out of line for his post-fight antics? Was the UFC responsible for all the crap-talking that Rivera was throwing at “The Count”? We’re not sure, but it seems very likely! Then it’s time to talk about this Thursday’s “UFC Live 3: Sanchez Vs. Kampmann” where Diego Sanchez takes on Martin Kampmann in the main event. Will Kampmann kick off Sanchez’ head right off his shoulders? What about the other fights? Tune in and join the festival of banter. Then, hang on as we talk about “Strikeforce: Feijao vs. Henderson” which happens on Saturday. Will Dan Henderson KO Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante with the same brutality he used on “Babalu” Sobral? Or will the Brazilian champion keep both his belt and his consciousness? It’s hard to say. Yes! Three events in one show. That has to be some kind of record. And as if that isn’t enough, we call up Tim Kennedy; who faces Melvin Manhoef this Saturday. If that isn’t a show and two-thirds, you don’t know your fractions!

On this episode of Full Contact Fighter Radio, host Jeff “Wombat” Meszaros and co-host James Kellaris debate the hot topics in MMA, while frequently wandering off topic to discuss questions of philosophy and existentialism. First, it’s time to pick the winners for “UFC 127: Penn vs. Fitch” where B.J. Penn and Jon Fitch will clash to see who will be the next top-contender at welterweight. Will Penn be able to submit or knock out Fitch? Or will the wrestler drag the Hawaiian into a unanimous decision beating, the kind which he has trademarked while leaving a path of destruction in the 170lb division. Should we have ended that sentence with a question mark? Who knows? We answer most of these questions and then move on to the co-main event where U.K. standout Micheal “The Count” Bisping takes on Jorge “El Conquistador” Rivera. Why is this fight happening? Does the UFC matchmaker dislike the Brit? Does he have anything whatsoever to gain by fighting the dangerous dark horse? Your guess is as good as ours, but our guesses are broadcast for everyone to hear. Then we move along to chat about the rest of the card, again meandering off-topic now and then to keep things interesting. Speaking of interesting, we catch up with former WEC champion “Razor” Rob McCullough to talk about his upcoming bout in the Bellator lightweight tournament, the winner of which gets a hundred thousand dollars and a shot at champion Eddie Alvarez. What? Oh, yes, friends. It’s true. Tune in and hear all about that; plus Razor’s ideas about the difference between Muay Thai and MMA. Oh, snap. This podcast is hoppin’!

On this episode of Full Contact Fighter Radio, host Jeff “Wombat” Meszaros and co-host James Kellaris review “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva” where former heavyweight juggernaut Fedor Emelianenko fell short for the second time, losing by a horrifying beating to Antonio “Pezao” Silva. Is Fedor done for good? Or will his management force him to keep fighting against his will? What about Arlovski? After an equally-terrifying knockout loss to Sergei Kharitonov, should he hang up his four-ounce gloves for good? We certainly hope so. Tune in and find out why, like there’s any mystery about our reasons. Hint: We don’t want to watch him die. Getting back to Fedor, does that guy need to learn some jiu-jitsu or what? Is he going to improve his ability to hang with guys like Werdum and Silva on the ground? Why wasn’t Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueria able to do that when he fought Fedor years ago in Pride? Don’t miss our guesses and finger-pointing as we try to explain it. What about the other fights? What happened there? We cover most of it, then we move on to chat with Ultimate Fighter veteran Nick Ring, who makes his UFC debut next week against DEEP champion Riki Fukuda. Catch the wacky banter as we take a trip down memory lane, touching on the time Ring fought Jeff, a riot that later nearly happened, and the always-engaging topic of knee surgeries and sobering conversations with concerned doctors. All this, plus his thoughts on the match, memories of being in the TUF house and almost-predictions for the rest of the card. If this show was soup, it would be “Mmmmm good”!

On this episode of Full Contact Fighter Radio, host Jeff “Wombat” Meszaros and co-host James Kellaris debate the issues of “UFC 126: Silva vs. Belfort” where Anderson Silva defended his belt in incredible fashion, knocking out Vitor Belfort with a front-kick to the face that he said he got from Steven Seagal. Is that insane or what? What the heck is going on there? Is that a joke or what? Tune in and hear the ferocious debate then hang on as we discuss the other issues such as: Why was Seagal wearing protective-shooting glasses? Also, what was the deal with the mask that Silva wore to the weigh-ins? Then it’s time to turn to the fight between Rich Franklin and Forrest Griffin. Can anything even be said about that? Not so much, so we move on to chat about Jon “Bones” Jones. Is he like a character out of Street Fighter 2? Which one? What’s going to happen when he fights Mauricio “Shogun” Rua next month? Opinions vary. Then, after a smattering of other statements, we move on and talk about “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva” where Fedor Emelianenko will attempt to end his losing streak of one fight by smashing yet another opponent who suffers from gigantism. Plus, Andrei Arlovski takes on Sergei Kharitonov. What’s going to happen there? Who will they face for the next level of the heavyweight tournament? Tune in and drink in the info-tainment. Then hang on as Chris “Lights Out” Lytle stops by to share his thoughts on the Silva/Seagal situation, plus his upcoming fight against Carlos Condit in Australia as well as the rest of the card for “UFC 127: Penn vs. Fitch”. If that isn’t enough of a show to satisfy your hunger for mediocre podcasting then you’re officially unreasonable.

On this episode of Full Contact Fighter Radio, host Jeff “Wombat” Meszaros and co-host James Kellaris run down “Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg”, where Nick Diaz beat Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos to retain his welterweight belt. Why did “Cyborg” go for a takedown at the end of the round? Who did Diaz swear at when the fight was over? Tune in and hear our unfounded assumptions, then stick around as we attempt to answer more irrelevant questions. What about the fight with “Jacare” vs. Robbie Lawler? Did the jiu-jitsu ace break the will of the knockout brawler? Did that exact thing happen in the fight between Roger Gracie and Trevor Prangley as well? Is there even any point talking about the fight with Hershel Walker? Probably not, so we move on to preview the card for “UFC 126: Silva vs. Belfort” where Anderson Silva is facing fellow super-striker Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort; but is Belfort really on the same level as Silva? Or will he get badly out-classed by the champion? What about Forrest Griffin vs. Rich Franklin? Jon Jones vs. Ryan Bader? Listen to our unbiased selections, then hang around as UFC fighter Mike Pierce stops in to talk about his upcoming fight on the same card and share his thoughts on the rest of the fights. If you’re in the mood to be mildly entertained, we’ve got the show for you

On this episode of Full Contact Fighter Radio, host Jeff Meszaros and James Kellaris run down the ins and outs of “UFC Fight for the Troops 2″ where Melvin Guillard TKO’d Evan Dunham in the main event. Did we see that coming? Absolutely not. Now, it’s time to reflect on how wrong we were and review the rest of the event, where Matt Mitrione smashed Tim Hague and Pat Barry devoured Joey Beltran, nearly dropping “The Mexicutioner” with leg kicks. Let’s not forget about Mark Hominick’s destruction of former training partner George Roop, which took second-place in the worst beating of the night only to Matt Wiman’s 15-minute annihilation of Cole Miller, which started out terrible and then got worse with every minute that went by. Then, it’s time to chat about this weekend’s Strikeforce event, where Nick Diaz is set to face Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos (no, not the girl) in a fight to crown the welterweight champion. Will Diaz be able to handle the aggression of the Brazilian? What about the co-main event, where Robbie Lawler and “Jacare” De Souza meet for the middleweight belt? Will Lawler get submitted? Or will he knock out the jiu-jitsu ace with a terrifyingly cruel clubbing? What about Roger Gracie vs. Trevor Prangley? Is there anything to say about that fight other than Prangley should not go to the ground? We answer that question and several others, some of which are kind of irrelevant. Then we move on to talk with Shawn Tompkins about all the same topics, except this time with the insight of an expert coach. Wowzers, what a show!
