This Week on Alchemist Radio: Tim Kennedy, Pat Miletich, Al Iaquinta, Carlos Machado and Michael McBride

By Bryan Levick

This week on Alchemist Radio we welcome Marlon Ransom part of the DDP Yoga family as our guest co-host.

Leading things off is UFC middleweight Tim Kennedy. The former Army Special Forces Soldier won his UFC debut against Roger Gracie at UFC 162 back in July. He will face Rafael Natal in the main event of UFC: Fight for the Troops 3 on November 6 at Fort Campbell in Fort Campbell, KY.

MMA legend Pat Miletich will join us next and talk about his very busy schedule. Miletich currently works for AXS TV and calls fights for MFC, LFC, XFC, CFA and RFA to name a few. The first ever UFC welterweight champion will receive a lifetime achievement award on October 25 at RFA 10. Miletich has been credited with helping MMA become what it is today by bringing training his fighters in all the different disciplines of the martial arts.

Michael McBride will be the fourth of our RFA “Prospects of the Week,” he will face Emmanuel Sanchez at RFA 10 on October 25. McBride is 4-0 as a professional with all four wins by submission. Each of those submission victories has come by some form of a choke.

Carlos Machado is a ninth degree blackbelt and the eldest of the five Machado Brothers. The 50-year-old Machado was trained by his cousin Carlos Gracie Jr throughout his whole life. He has also trained with other Gracies as well including Helio, Carlson, Rolls and Rickson. He is currently married to the sister of UFC welterweight Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson.

After sitting on the sidelines for over a year, UFC lightweight Al Iaquinta made a triumphant return to the Octagon at UFC 164. The Ray Longo trained, Long Island born Iaquinta controlled Ryan Couture for three rounds en route to his first UFC victory. He is now taking another fight on short notice and will face Piotr Hallman at UFC Fight Night 30 in Manchester on October 26.
