Tim Kennedy Says Prior Commitments Forced Him to Turn Down Bout With Lyoto Machida
By FCF Staff
2015 will come and go without seeing Tim Kennedy fight, and the middleweight is reporting that prior commitments have forced him to turn down a bout with Lyoto Machida in February.
Kennedy hasn’t competed since September, 2014, when he was stopped Yoel Romero in controversial fashion at UFC 178. The 36 year-old fighter and accomplished soldier has informed MMA Junkie.com that the UFC offered him a fight with Machida in February.
Kennedy, however, is scheduled to teach a martial arts seminar that month and instruct a military urban combat course. As a result, he could not accept the fight.
The middleweight contender also added that he still hopes to fight Vitor Belfort.
