Former UFC heavyweight champ, Tim Sylvia, has reportedly announced he’s retiring from pro MMA at the age of 38.

The massive, 6’8 tall fighter is calling it quits on his decorated career, after he was not medically cleared to fight at a Reality Fighting event this past weekend.

According to a report from Mixed Martial Arts.com, a medical issue was revealed via a MRI, however,  details were not disclosed.

Sylvia concludes his career having put together a 31-1o record, which includes memorable wins over Ricco Rodriguez, Andrei Arlovski, and Jeff Monson, among others. The win over Rodriguez took place in 2003, and Slyvia laid claim to the UFC heavyweight title with the first round, stoppage victory.

Over the last 15 years,”The  Maine-iac” also competed for organizations like ONE FC, Affliction and Pro Elite.
