Title Fight Between Cole Konrad and Eric Prindle Confirmed for Bellator 65

Bellator CEO Bjron Rebney recently announced that fans wouldn’t have to wait long for a title fight between heavyweight champion Cole Konrad and tourney winner Eric Prindle, and now the executive has confirmed the two will square off April 13th.

Rebney confirmed the Bellator 65 match-up while appearing on Spike TV’s “MMA Uncensored” program.

Prindle recently secured the tourney win without fighting, as fellow finalist Thiago Santos was disqualified from the competition, when he failed to make weight for their scheduled bout at Bellator 62.

The cancellation came just one week after Prindle was unable to fight Santos at Bellator 61 due to illness, and approximately four months after their initial meeting was declared a no contest (Prindle could not continue after being accidently kicked in the groin).

Prindle (7-1) earned his way to the tourney final last fall by scoring victories over Abe Wagner and Ron Sparks.

Konrad (8-0) hasn’t competed since last August when he worked his way to a unanimous decision win over UFC Paul Buentello. The decorated wrestler has gone 6-0 since signing with Bellator.

Bellator 65, which will be hosted by the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, will also feature a bantamweight bout between champion Zach Makovsky and challenger Eduardo Dantas.
