TJ Dillashaw Says Demetrious Johnson is on The Verge of “Ruining His Legacy”

Although Demetrious Johnson has said he’s not interested in handing TJ Dillashaw a title shot, the former bantamweight champ continues to prepare for a bout with the flyweight king.

After Cody Garbrandt was forced to drop out of a scheduled bout with Dillashaw, the latter began campaigning for a bout with Johnson. UFC President Dana White said the promotion wants to book that bout, but Johnson has argued Dillashaw doesn’t deserve a title shot, since he hasn’t competed at 125. Further, recently Johnson accused the UFC of mistreating him, and of bullying him to fight Dillashaw.

Recently Dillashaw talked with MMA Junkie, and while doing so, he said this about Johnson:

“But I need to know sooner than later, because I’m in the process of changing my entire body around right now”, Dillashaw said, while discussing the fact Johnson hasn’t signed on to the bout. “This isn’t an eight-week process; this is a 12-week process. Not only do I want to make the weight, I want to perform at the weight, as well.”

“I think the smartest thing for me to do is stay on the path I’m on now until Demetrious mans up and realizes he’s going to ruin his legacy by not taking this fight,”

Dillashaw’s last bout took place in December, when he earned a unanimous decision win over John Lineker.
