There’s been no shortage of talk recently about a fight between Dominick Cruz and Cody Garbrandt, but if that happens next, TJ Dillashaw says the UFC will cease to be a sport.

Cruz and Garbrandt have been trading words through the media for sometime now, but following “No Love’s” stoppage wins over Thomas Almeida and Takeya Mizugaki, buzz about them fighting has reached new heights. Garbrandt, however, is not currently a top five ranked contender.

Recently Dillashaw appeared on Brian Stann’s Sirius XM show, and the former bantamweight champ made his opinions on the subject quite clear (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“I just don’t think there’s any way of them denying it, denying me that fight. And if they do, it’s a straight up robbery and this is not even a sport anymore. If they don’t give me that title fight, they skip me and give it to someone else, this is turning into more of the entertainment factor drama than it is an actual sport, and I hope we stay on the side of continuing to be a sport. Let’s really have the best fight the best. I think that’s the way it needs to go.”

Dillashaw, who is currently ranked #1,  is coming off a decision win over the third ranked Raphael Assuncano last month. In January, Dillashaw lost the 135 title to Cruz via a tightly contested, split decision loss.
