TJ Grant Dropping to Lightweight, Fighting Shane Roller Oct. 1st

By FCF Staff

TJ Grant is the latest fighter changing weight classes, as the Ultimate Fighting Championship has announced that the veteran is moving down from welterweight to fight lightweight Shane Roller, October 1st.

The bout will be part of the UFC Live on Versus 6 card, which will be hosted by Washington, D.C.’s Verizon Center.

Grant (16-5) (pictured) has gone 3-3 to date during his Octagon tenure at 170lbs. The Canadian last competed in December and lost by unanimous decision to Ricardo Almeida, after scoring a UD win over Julio Paulino in September.

Roller (10-4) is coming off a stoppage loss at the hands of Melvin Guillard on July, which ended the accomplished wrestler’s two fight win streak. Roller has gone 7-3 during his time competing for the WEC and UFC.

The UFC Live on Versus 6 card will feature a bantamweight bout between champion Dominick Cruz and challenger Demetrious Johnson in the main event.

The card will be broadcast on the Versus Network.
