TJ Grant vs. Gray Maynard, Abel Trujillo vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov Added to UFC 160
By FCF Staff
The Ultimate Fighting Championship has added a compelling lightweight bout to the promotion’s May 25th, Memorial Day weekend event, as the surging TJ Grant will take on perennial contender Gray Maynard. In addition, UFC 160 will feature a tilt between rising lightweights Khabib Nurmagomedov and Abel Trujillo.
Grant (20-5) is coming off a first round, knockout win over Matt Wiman in January, which was his fourth straight win since moving to lightweight.
Maynard (11-1-1) hasn’t fought since June when he worked his way to a split decision win over Clay Guida, after he was stopped by former champ Frankie Edgar in October, 2011.
Nurmagomedov (19-0) stopped Thiago Tavares in the first round last month to record his third straight win under the UFC banner.
Trujillo (10-4), meanwhile, scored a TKO win over Marcus LeVesseur in December at UFC on FOX 5, which was the lightweight’s Octagon debut.
UFC 160 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and will feature a rematch between heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva.
