Following Ray Borg’s win at UFC FN 60, the flyweight hasn’t been booked for his next fight, but the rising fighter’s coach says he’s extremely eager to do so.

Borg is coming off a memorable, submission win over Chris Kelades in February, after he choked out Shane Howell last June. The only man to defeat Borg in nine pro bouts is flyweight contender Dustin Ortiz, who decisioned the 21 year-old in his UFC debut last April.

The FIT NHB fighter’s head coach, Tom Vaughn, recently appeared on Full Contact Fighter Radio, and relayed the following update regarding Borg.

“Ray’s doing great, training hard, and we’re just waiting for his next assignment,” Vaughn said. “He just got a new five fight deal, got a raise, so he’s happy. He just wants to fight.”

Of course, Borg isn’t the only fighter who’s been drawing attention to the Albuquerque based gym, as the facility is also home to welterweight Tim Means.

The latter is coming off a submission win over George Sullivan at UFC on FOX 15, which was Means’ fourth straight. The former lightweight returned to the UFC last year, and after he was decisioned by Neil Magny, Means proceeded to defeat Hernani Perpetuo, Marcio Alexandre Jr. Dhiego Lima and Sullivan.

Following Means’ win on April 18th, the UFC announced he will fight contender Matt Brown on July 11th.

“Definitely,” said Vaughn, when asked if FIT NHB has experienced an up tick in coverage and traffic in recent months. “It’s been a slow climb for us because our approach was different…I don’t just want people floating in and out. We like to take the time to make these fighters real good and have depth to their game. It takes time.”

“We’ve had some more people come into the gym, some more fighters, but we already have some fighters that are on their way. Expect to see more from this team.”
