Dana White recently said that a fight between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagmedov would likely happen, before Conor McGregor fights again, and now the UFC President has reported the contest is set for April 7.

On Wednesday, White appeared on the Boston radio show, Toucher and Rich, and during the interview he reportedly said Ferguson – Nurmagoedov will take place at UFC 223, April 7.

What’s not clear yet, is whether the contest will be for Ferguson’s interim title, or if McGregor is being stripped of the undisputed lightweight title. Recently White said that McGregor would need to commit to a fight before September, in order to avoid being stripped of the belt.

UFC 223 will take place in Brooklyn, New York.
