TUF 24: Joseph Benavidez Believes Henry Cejudo is a “Real Doofus” After Coaching Opposite Flyweight
By FCF Staff
After coaching opposite of Henry Cejudo for several weeks, Joseph Benavidez is reporting that his opinion of the flyweight contender changed…for the worse.
The two are coaches for TUF 24, which features all flyweight fighters and will begin airing on Wednesday. Cejudo and Benavidez will square off at the show’s finale on December 3rd.
Recently Benavidez spoke with the media about the show, and while doing so, he said this about Cejudo (quote via MMA Junkie.com):
“(Our relationship is) worse,” Benavidez said. “Before, it wasn’t much. I was just annoyed by him. But now it’s like I don’t like him. So there’s still no major emotional thing there, but before it was like, ‘The guy’s annoying, but I don’t know him that well.’ But after seeing him for six weeks, he’s a real doofus. Now I just actually don’t like him, I guess you could say.”
The TUF 24 winner will advance to face reigning champ Demetrious Johnson. The latter holds two wins over Benavidez, and one win over Cejudo.
