Recently the UFC announced that it was going to hold open tryouts for flyweight fighters, in preparation for TUF 24, but the promotion has cancelled those plans.

Initially, tryouts were set for April 25th in Las Vegas, but recently the UFC posted the following statement:

Las Vegas – UFC® announced today that the open casting call for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter® originally scheduled for April 25 in Las Vegas has been canceled. UFC apologizes for any inconveniences this cancelation has caused.

More information about the next season of the show will be made available in the weeks to come.

The original announcement for TUF 24 also reported that the show’s winner would advance to a title shot. The statement did not include any information regarding whether this will continue to be the case.
