Michael Johnson and Justin Gaethje have talked a lot of smack in the preceding weeks to their bout tonight, and that hasn’t changed during fight week.

Gaethje and Johnson will battle in the headliner of the TUF 25 Finale tonight, which will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada. The bout will be Gaethje’s first with the UFC, after exited from the WSOF earlier this year, without having lost the promotion’s 155 title to another opponent.

The 17-0 fighter was a guest on the latest “UFC Tonight” this week, and while discussing his plans for Johnson, Gaethje said this (quotes via FOX Sports 1 press release):

“It says a lot”, said Gaethje, when asked about the verbal warfare he’s had with Johnson. “He’s already scared of me. Now, he says he’s a wrestler. I’m going to take his soul. I’m going to control his heartbeat, control his mind and take his soul.”

“I win by knockout, I win by decision, or he wins by knockout, but I’m not going to win by submission.”

My pressure,” added Gaethje, when asked how he plans to win the bout. “You can’t plan for it. Either he knocks me out early or he breaks.”

Johnson, meanwhile, will be fighting for the first time since December when he was submitted by Khabib Nurmagomedov.
