TUF 26 to Crown UFC’s Inaugural Women’s Flyweight Champ

By FCF Staff

As expected, the 26th Season of “The Ultimate Fighter’ will feature women flyweights, and the competition will determine the promotion’s first ever, woman champion at 125 pounds.

The confirmation comes days after a press release was sent out announcing the plans for TUF 26, only to then have UFC officials say show was not finalized.

TUF 26 will begin filming in July and the season will air on FOX Sports 1 later this year. Tryouts are scheduled for May 23rd in Las Vegas. The official announcement states that the fighters must be “between the ages of 21-34 with a winning record and at least three professional fights.”

With the new division, the UFC currently promotes weight classes for women at 115 pounds, 125, 135 and 145.
