TUF China Tryouts Targeted for July or August

With TUF “Nations: Canada vs. Australia” set to debut next year, the Ultimate Fighting Championship will reportedly begin holding tryouts for TUF China in the coming months. The reality show will air on the Chinese television network Liaoning TV.

According to a report from MMA Junkie.com, tryouts will take place in Singapore, Macao and Beijing, and is open to featherweights, lightweights and welterweights. The show’s headcoaches have not been determined yet.

The season will conclude with a TUF China Finale, which will reportedly take place in Macao. The date of the event has not been determined.

The UFC has talked of expanding its operations in China for sometime, and producing TUF in the nation will also add Chinese fighters to the promotion’s roster, which currently features just two (Tieqhuan Zhang and Jumabieke Tuerxun).

Tryouts for TUF Nations will take place this September in Sydney and Toronto, and will feature Patrick Cote and Kyle Noke as coaches.
