Canada’s Cote Will Battle Australia Coach Noke

By FCF Staff

The upcoming season of “TUF Nations: Canada vs. Australia” will also feature middleweights from each respective country, and not just welterweights as originally thought.

Team Canada coach Patrick Cote recently relayed the news to the UFC Central program, which airs on the Canadian television network Sportsnet.

The latest international version of “The Ultimate Fighter” is expected to premiere in early 2014, and will be broadcast on Sportsnet 360 and TVA Sports in Canada, and FX in Australia.

Tryouts for the show will take place this September in Sydney and Toronto.

Kyle Noke will be the head coach for Team Australia, and the UFC vet will square off with Cote once the season concludes.

Although the show’s original announcement did not disclose whether Cote and Noke will fight, a UFC official recently confirmed to Full Contact Fighter that the two are expected to meet.

Cote (19-8) scored a unanimous decision win over Bobby Voelker in his last outing at UFC 158, and Noke (20-6-1) hasn’t competed since he stopped Charlie Brenneman at UFC 152 in September.
