Tyron Woodley Says GSP’s “Playing Games”, Willing to Fight Michael Bisping July 8th
By FCF Staff
Michael Bisping has warned Georges St-Pierre to commit to a fight this summer, and now Tyron Woodley’s says he’s ready to step in on July 8th, if need be.
Recently Bisping relayed that he wants to fight GSP on July 8th, but that he’s heard the latter wants their fight to take place in September or October. The middleweight champ has also said he’s willing to give St-Pierre a little bit more time, but that if he doesn’t commit to a bout in the summer, Bisping will face Yoel Romero.
Woodley has expressed an interest in fighting Bisping before, and on the latest “UFC Tonight”, the welterweight champ said this (quote via FOX Sports 1 press release):
“I think Georges St-Pierre is playing games with us. He didn’t want to fight me, so he went up to middleweight, then mentioned going down to lightweight. Michael Bisping, I stand by my offer, ten toes down. If you want to get it on July 8, I’ll be there and I’ll be ready.”
Woodley is coming off a decision win over Stephen Thompson at UFC 209 earlier this month, after battling the feared striker to a draw in November.
