Tyron Woodley to Challenge For Title Next After Johny Hendricks Withdrawal
By FCF Staff
After the late withdrawal of Johny Hendricks from Saturday’s UFC 192, due to weight cutting issues, it looks as though Tyron Woodley has landed a title shot.
Hendricks has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled bout with Woodley, after he incurred an intestinal blockage and a kidney stone, while cutting weight. The fight was widely expected to determine who would challenge the winner of the January 2nd bout between welterweight champ Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit.
Not long after, Woodley made the following tweet:
@UFCONFOX My next fight will be a title shot! I'm not fighting anybody in between! @UFC #UFC I deserve that and my win bonus

UFC officials have also confirmed that Woodley has been granted a title shot.
UFC 192 will be hosted by the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
