Tyson Griffin is the latest UFC vet to sign a contract with World Series of Fighting, as the fighter has announced via Twitter that he’s inked a multi-fight deal with the promotion.

The announcement comes approximately six months after Griffin worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Efrain Escudero, at a Resurrection Fighting Alliance card in November.

“I’m excited to say, I have a multiple fight contract with @MMAWorldSeries,” Griffin stated on his official Twitter account. “Thanks @SugarRaySefo, @AliWSOF & the people that put it together.”

The 29 year-old vet added that he’s hoping to compete on WSOF’s August card.

Griffin (16-6) was released by the UFC in 2011, after he was knocked out by Bart Palaszewski, which was the lightweight’s fourth defeat in five fights.

During his entire run with the UFC, Griffin went 8-6, and scored wins over established vets like Clay Guida, Thiago Tavares, and Manny Gamburyan.
