UFC’s Alexander Gustafsson Posts Pic Of Fight Stopping Cut
By FCF Staff
Alexander Gustafsson has posted a pic of the cut that forced his withdrawal from this Saturday’s UFC on FUEL TV card in Stockholm, and judging by the picture, the injury was fairly significant.
After reports surfaced this weekend that Gustafsson had suffered a cut while training, it was believed the injury would force his removal from the card, and yesterday doctors confirmed he will be unable to fight.
The Swedish light-heavyweight’s training partner, Ilir Latifi, has agreed to step in and fight Gegard Mousasi.
Gustafsson also relayed, via his official website, that the cut happened while he was wrestling and as a result of losing his balance and falling. The fighter required three stitches to close the wound.
The 26 year-old Gustafsson (15-1) has positioned himself at the top of the UFC 205 pound division by winning six straight bouts.
