UFC 147: Rich Franklin Scores Another Unanimous Decision Win Over Wanderlei Silva
By FCF Staff
Although Wanderlei Silva appeared to be a strike or two away from victory in the second round of his main event tilt with Rich Franklin tonight in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, the latter went on to score a unanimous decision win over the renowned fighter.
Silva floored Franklin in round two with a right hand, and landed several more punches, but the former UFC middleweight champ managed to survive the round and resumed his attack. Despite the setback, Franklin outscored the Brazilian middleweight with strikes throughout much of the bout and received the UD win for his determined efforts.
The win marked the second time Franklin has defeated Silva, as he also handed the former Pride champ a UD loss in June, 2009.
