UFC 166: Flyweight Prospect Darrell Montague to Fight John Dodson
By FCF Staff
The Ultimate Fighting Championship has added another top ranked flyweight to its roster, as the promotion has announced that Darrell Montague will take on contender John Dodson, at UFC 166 on October 19th.
Montague (13-2), who is already ranked by some outlets as top ten flyweight, will make his Octagon debut having gone 9-1 in his last 10 bouts. The only man to defeat him during that stretch is current UFC contender Ian McCall. The 25 year-old fighter has defeated established vets like Mamoru Yamaguchi and Ulysses Gomez during his career.
Dodson (14-6) will be looking to rebound from the unanimous decision loss he suffered versus champion Demetrious Johnson in January. The TUF 14 winner has defeated TJ Dillashaw, Jussier “Formiga” and Tim Elliott under the UFC banner thus far.
UFC 166 will take place at Houston’s Toyota Center and will be headlined by a heavyweight bout between champion Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos. The main card will be available via pay-per-view.
